Job Description

Thompson Hine LLP, an Am Law 200 firm regularly recognized for our commitment to Innovation and Inclusion, is seeking a full-time Legal Talent Specialist in our Chicago, Illinois office.

The Legal Talent Specialist will be an integral member of the Talent Management team and will work closely with managers of legal recruiting to perform day-to-day recruiting functions for assigned firm offices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Legal Recruiting

  • Serve as a lead to the recruiting coordinators and conduct periodic training on internal processes.
  • Coordinates candidate interviews, makes travel arrangements, circulates interview schedules, and assists with the collection of evaluations/feedback for partner and non-partner candidates.
  • Draft offer letters for employed lawyer candidates for assigned markets.
  • Submit partner and employed lawyer candidate diligence for review and analysis.
  • Prepare and send lawyer offer materials.
  • Draft welcome emails, manuals and other documents, as needed.
  • Maintain/populate all candidates’ electronic recruiting files, and files in viRecruit, including updating applicant information, uploading resumes, candidate status tracking, generating reports, and candidate maintenance.
  • Handle data entry in Red Carpet, including entering and updating candidate information and managing throughout the onboarding process.
  • Create Employment Status Publications (“ESP”s) for new attorney hires.
  • Coordinates orientation schedules for new attorney hires.
  • Assists the Senior Law School Recruiting Manager with aspects of the On-Campus Interviewing Program “OCI” and Summer Program.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend Talent Management team meetings.
  • Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.
  • Maintain and update the Legal Talent Coordinator training manual.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Three years of law firm recruiting experience and four total years of administrative experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Experience working with viDesktop or a similar web-based applicant tracking system is required.

  • Strong computer skills required. Including spreadsheet and database experience; advanced functions of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Willingness and ability to assist other department employees as needed.
  • This position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., copiers, printers, etc.).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • This position requires the employee to work at a specified location and hours determined by the Manager for the benefit of the department and firm. Changes to the location and/or scheduled hours must be approved by the Manager.

Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting salary range for this position is $73,000 to $100,000.

This position is eligible to participate in a hybrid remote/in-office schedule. The hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. CST Monday through Friday.
