We are a fun-loving and driven family of 4 looking for a professional, part-time nanny excited to explore the Triangle with our kids! Our son is a kindhearted goofball who just started morning-only Montessori preschool. Our baby daughter is verrrry chill, but sharp, and she is blossoming oh so quickly. A typical day begins with precious baby-only time and household help, followed by picking up our son, helping him with lunch and nap, then play and adventures with both kids. Our goal is for them to have safe, engaging time that fosters their development into respectful humans. Please see details below as well as a bit about our family!

About our Family
We’re proud to have successfully overcome the “new parent” hump! With a 2.5 year old and a 9 month old, we’re feeling very confident. That being said, we always encourage advice and look forward to what you can teach us!
Mom and Dad have known each other since high school and have been together since 2012 - this includes a 7+ year stint of running a business together…so we’ve practically been married forever. Mom is on-point and can be particular about things, yet she’s understanding, and Dad is a quintessential, friendly entrepreneur (i.e. ADHD). We balance each other. Currently, Dad is busy but flexible and Mom is working part-time from home…but we still sneak in some spontaneity ;).
Little Dude is such a joy , even through toddlerhood. He’s a good-spirited, inquisitive, active (but not hyper) guy who loves new experiences. He’s extra close with Dad, is eternally satisfied spinning wheels, pushing things around, and figuring out how things work. We love listening to his songs and stories. He loves dump trucks, race cars, airplanes, dancing and being outside. That being said, he is still a toddler so knowing how to manage overwhelming situations is key for this role. We can’t wait to see how his personality continues to develop!
Our newest addition is amazing … and yes most parents think that about their kids. But it’s great to know it’s so true with her! She LOVES her brother and wants to be with him or watching him at all times. We can tell she’s frustrated that she can’t run around with him yet, in the cutest way. She’s extra observant and perceptive and loves a good giggle or tickle. Her favorite activities include blowing raspberries, crawling, and “climbing” all over couches.
Our parenting style is kind, fun, empathetic, understanding but with clear, respectful boundaries. We strive to validate our son’s emotions without being permissive or strict. We set boundaries and say no, but most often we find ourselves explaining situations (“We don’t touch the stove because it’s hot and can hurt” rather than “No!”). It is important to us to “emotion coach” - we try not to dismiss, label (personalities), or make fun of feelings; we aim to empathize, validate, explain, and help problem solve. It is critical that our nanny engages in this way as well.
We value Montessori principles and want to establish them more. We rarely ever engage in screen time or toys with lights/noises. We love wooden and educational toys and stimulating activities. Independent play is also important.
Our household is non-toxic, ordered, and healthy. We are as plastic, chemical, and pesticide free as we can be (like 80%). This translates to mostly organic/whole foods (produce and proteins), mostly wooden toys, natural fabric furniture/rugs, ceramic/glass/metal/silicone kitchenware, unscented/natural household items (laundry detergent, soaps, cleaning supplies, toiletries) etc. We like to maintain an ordered, clean house but it’s not spotless. We definitely have piles… Again, Mom is particular so certain things have specific places or ways to be utilized and it’s important to be able to remember each detail. And lastly but certainly vey important: maintaining a healthy lifestyle for our kids - to us that means: healthy and organic food (low sugar), conscientious about germs, exercise and time outdoors, stimulation and education.
We hope this position is enticing to you! Let us know if you have any questions when you apply. We look forward to meeting you!
